Also, what exactly does Arctic Silver 5 do? How does it help with cooling and such?

if you're up to the task I'd reccomend the Big Typhoon
otherwise, the blue orb is supposed to be good to.
personally, I would only look at 120mm fans, anything else is too noisy.
