I'm currently semi-rebuliding my system, and I'm wondering what I need to change to overclock.

What I have thats getting re-used::::
-Mobo: Gigabyte 7n400 Pro II
-HDD'S: 1x Seagate 7200RPM IDE "Stuff" drive.
-Ram.... one stick of regular corsair 512
-Processor: Amd Athalon XP 2700+ Barton Core

What I'm thinking about purchasing::::
- HDD's:
1x WD Raptor 37gb 10,000 RPM SATA... For the system drive
1x WD 250gb 7,200 RPM SATA.............. For "Stuff"
- Case: Chieftec SOHO Case (Large and has 5 fan slots - keep stuff cool)
- I think I need ram......
- New CPU heatsink/fan
- A good (according to reviews) 500w+ Power Supply
- A rheostat for the case fans, and the cpu fan (So I can sleep at night)

Hows that sound?

Unless you frequently fun programs that would benifit noticiby from more than 512 or RAM, don't throw away ur money on that. Otherwise that looks good, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT COOLING otherwise your oc'ed system will either crap out or be totally unstable.

i am personally against overclocking as i doubt there is a program or game out right now that won't run perfect on your system. If you do overclock I would buy a small fan and rig it to the north bridge on the motherboard, this chip can get hotter than the cpu.
