i disliked reading your thread, it is just too bloated and long. my attention span isn't that good and my patience is worse. your restore CD should work unless the hard disk image is locked to your motherboard/ BIOS serial number. it doesn't hurt to try, just back up your data in case.

when you moved the hardware almost anything could have happened. i would have to see what you did. some possibilities are:

power supply is underpowered for the new hardware you put in

hard disk was not setup correct/ not plugged in right

the most likely thing is probably what he is saying about the hardware lock. you can blame winXP and w2K for this. you can try downloading the winXP setup floppies from bootdisk.com . use it to do a repair installation on windows XP.

the reason why you have only one physical hard disk and many drive letters is because your hard disk mas multple partitions. if you need immediate assistance have a proffessional work on it for you.
