I have that one, specs are insane and the monitor is absolutely gorgeous. $379, so it does cost more but it's well worth it if you can afford it. If you're looking more for a 19" or 20.1" these are very good:

I'm a little biased towards Samsung but they do make great monitors and they cost about the same as the other brands. I really don't like the cheaper brands like Acer, Hanns G, etc. because they DO break more often and they have non-existant tech support. I've seen too many of them fail after a short period of time to recommend them over a good brand like Samsung/LG/Sony/Viewsonic just to save a few bucks.

Acer make bad monitors???????? abdfadashgahf

Not that I have ever seen!!! Ask anyone and Acer is one of the most renowned monitor makers there are, and they don't break that easily. The Hanns-G are somewhat not as sturdy but unless you like want to throw around your monitor or your speakers are shaking it off the desk everyday I wouldn't worry about it. That 19 inch wide Hanns G is too good of a deal to pass up after free shipping.

I will agree that Samsung make great monitors though but no where near "better" quality as in picture for more money. It's all your preference I guess.

just a thought...

try Costco.
I work there...they actually have some nice viewsonics
and some other ones that I've not found online for a
better price. That, and if it craps out/has dead pixel(s)/
or just plain sucks, you can take it back.
299 gets you a nice 22" Viewsonic with nice resolution.
And they have others if VS isn't your gig.
so..more a reccomendation for WHERE to buy rather then
WHAT to buy...but what the heck. :)

PS: oh ya, gotta HansG and I love it, but I will get that
22" VS from Costco for me new system.

I'm planning to get that 22" Sceptre widescreen with the 1200:1 contrast ratio :D

Shopping at Costco online is one thing I've seen mentioned over and over while reading up on this monitor at various forums. Newegg only does RMAs for monitors if there are more than 8 dead pixels... Costco has a zero dead/stuck pixel guarantee! I'm getting everything else at Newegg, but I'll be getting the monitor at Costco.com. So, yeah, seconding what Mac said regarding WHERE to buy.
