alienware vs custom server/workstation

I would like to/need to compare the best custom gaming workstation/server to the best alienware gaming workstation/server for around the same price and using equivalent level componentry. The system will be used as a server to run games on a network.

would u be able to suggest a custom server/workstation to beat the alienware gaming workstation/server

Things to remember
price in relation to the alianware system
Componentry – equipment – componets and peripheral
The best “NOS” operating system Xp will be installed how ever I do believe that maybe Lynx, or Unix runs better in a server environment

For the most part Alienware is overpriced. They put together amazing systems but still they are overpriced. I would just go custom.

alienware's parts that they use are not any better than the ones you can buy on newegg, they just select the good brands? but those brands are availavble to anyone?

Yea but also they do one **** of a job putting together the system as well, in terms of wiring and cooling and all that junk. Amazing builders but still way overpriced.
