its not worth that price, all 680i mobos are currently still in the de-bugging process. If you still want a 680i board, pick the eVGA 680i, they're very quick on updating and posting solutions; eVGA actually post and interact with their consumers on the forums and the warranty is awesome. Just my opinion.
 
When you say updating, do you mean that they update the BIOS? If so, then are the updates automatically downloaded or is it something that is only sold with updated boards?
 
Each BIOs update is posted on the forums, and they give you two options of updating. Using the Install program, or the Floppy files. Theres a new BIOs roughly every month to get the 680i kinks under control.
