Asus P5B Deluxe & 2 gfx cards?

I have been considering this mobo, but have read more than one review where having 2 graphics cards in place prevents booting up...not even a post.

There are 2 PCIe 16 slots, one blue and one black. I need 3 monitor support, and am not interested in SLI/Crossfire. Anybody out there with this board get it to work with 2 cards?

I believe it is Xfire and not SLI
