I have 2 kids games(veggie tales and Spongebob) that won't install on windows XP. I drop the cd into the try, the install screen comes up. but when I click install, the install screen goes away and then nothing happens.
Are these games slightly older? If so they may require that you run them in an older compatability mode. To do this and to see if it works do the following:
1. Open 'My Computer and 'explore' the cd in question.
2. Find the installer normally titled install.exe
3. Right click on the file and then select the menu option 'properties'
4. Select the tab titled 'Compatibility' and then select the checkbox titled 'Run this program in the compatability mode for:'
5. Select 'Windows 2000' unless the system requirements for the software state otherwise.
6. Hit the 'Apply' buton and then hit the 'OK' button.
7. Now install and enjoy.
I would note that I am still finding drivers for what I would consider newer hardware that has to be ran in the windows 2000 compatibility mode.
