I'm usually in the position to say, "get a nice dx9 card, upgrading to dx10 will come later". But today I saw a shop here sell the eVGA 8800GTS for as little as $299(!) which is what I bought my 7900GT for about four months ago. I'm seriously thinking of selling my videocard now although the price of 512MB models has gone down to $225-$250 (although they're really hard to get; most have been replaced by 7950GTs). I reckon I could get $150 for it so the GTS would cost me $150. It's a great deal in my opinion, or should I just wait for the lower-end Geforce 8 cards and wait for some benchmarks?

Definitely sell your card and get the 8800GTS...quick. That's one heck of a deal.

Well it's the 320MB version... unlike what it said in the advertisement. So that would be a 320MB 8800GTS up against a 512MB 7900GT. Do you reckon the memory would matter much for DX10?

EDIT: the 640MB version costs $350... good deal still.

Just get the 640MB version, It'd only a little bit more money out of your pocket for a big increase in performance.
