what can i do about the CPU i just bought?
the 3.0E GHZ? ... return it or something?
i have a 300 $ budget only

Return the CPU you just bought, if the place you bought it from will allow you to do that. Yes the 939 is an AMD socket and the processors available for that socket will outperform the P4 you have. Well, What do you use this computer for anyhow?

Thank you, i bought it yesterday, a addicted to amd friend helped me out, i got a amd athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.20GHZ / 2mb Cache

Yea i got this one here, Asus A8N5X-GR Socket 939 Motherboard , i love Asus =)

Well, aslong as you can use that then you'll be fine, I think you'll enjoy how much better the 4400 performs compared to your old P4
