This is my first PC build and would like to know how I did. IÂ’m no expert at this and I know there are areas I could have done better. I have received almost all the parts and should have them before the weekend. I plan to start putting it together on Saturday.

I decided not to use the PSU that game with the case and bought another one.

Thanks

Good call on not using the PSU that came with the case, but you also shouldn't have gone for that cheap 585W either. It's too much power for your system, and not a known reliable brand. You should of gotten a FSP Fortron 400W. Other than that, the other parts are pretty good.

I've used tigerdirect before. They're not that bad, but their prices are a little overpriced, and their shipping is slow. Newegg is the best IMO.

i got that same power supply, what are the chances of something going wrong?

Actually take it from someone with experience on cheap PSU's. I bought a 400W chiefmax (paid $20 for it) that blew up in about 8 months. Don't chance it because depending on how it goes out it can possibly take out your board, CPU, and Memory all at once. I lucked out both times but I'm not taking any more chances.

Also if you have never had a PSU go bad you will know it just because of the smell. As soon as i started smelling that burned syrup smell I knew I had my 2nd PSU on its way out (fried the stock PSU too)
