*URGENT* keyboard is really bad

my keyboard just started dying on me. stops typing for a bit. ive restarted and unplugged and all that. jsut while i was typing this topic, in between urgent and keyboard it stopped for a good 30 seconds. thats how FREAK it is!
if worst comes to worst ill have to buy a new one but right now im hoping there is some troubleshooting i can do

If that doesn't work, it's probably something eating up your CPU
