system memory question

I have some spare ram that is DDR 2 5300 memory and I was wondering if i could use that on a 939 socket mb? I think the motherboard will just automatically slow the ram down to the speed it can handle but I am not sure if DDR 2 is compatible? It is an older MSI 939 socket board.

nope i dont think DD2 RAM will work with a socket 939 board, unfortunately! i think you'd need an AM2 board.

You can sell it, it's good, fast modern memory that is worth a few bucks and you can buy some DDR for it.
