Ok, ive been lurking this forum for about 2 months now, and have made a list of what my best build would be for occasional gaming (i want to be able to play Ghost Recon with NO problems!) Heavy movie/ media entertainment. I dont need/want the best sound card nor gfx card but something decent that will allow me to play the current games at least at medium-high settings.
The thing is ive read, and searched about all my options CPU, Mobo, etc.. and made about 3-4 lists... and out of frustration have thrown them out due to my indeciveness with mobo/cpu combinations.
Ok, Basically i have $1300USD to build the aformentioned machine. I def know I want the C2D E6600...but I dont know what Mobo to choose!...at first i was leaning towards Asus--read the reviews and then jumped to Gigabyte--read their reviews..then was just stuck. I just want to make sure EVERYTHING from the RAMM to the Videocard/soundcard, PSU, Etc is ALL compatible with each other --with no conflicts..
1.Im not overclocking (dont know what that is--im a newbie, but if i find out how MIGHT consider it.)
2. Already have a monitor, keyb, mouse.
3.Occasional gaming if possible at med-highest setting.
4.I multitask alot on my comp..multiple programs open, web, Chat..etc.
If You had the had an oppt to build your machine at the budget what would your ideal build be?
