Are you serious. I will definetly go all out if thats the case. Man I didn't know, help me out! Ok well wats the best for me? Upgrade or buy parts and make myself a kicka** computer?

Definently build a new one yourself. End of Story. How much are you willing to spend on a new rig?

He said around 400, but I'm sure we can use his old CD drives, mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc. I was thinking that in order to save money use a motherboard with ddr, so he doesn't have to buy as much ram. But these parts I think will be good starts.

Case: A $30 case with a 480watt PSU, and a Window

HDD: A $50 WD 160GB Sata 2 HDD

Now the rest will depend on whether he gets a new motherboard/cpu/ram, or keep his and just add a videocard, and some more ram.

If you do wanan get a new cpu, ou can get htis combo deal for $100 bucks. An Amd Athlon 64 3400 plus an Asus mobo:

Then get this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141198

That will bump you up to 1.5gigs

And last get this $145 videocard after rebate, and you'll have a new sweet pc like you want:
