um, probably.
what are the rest of your system specs?
how do you mean "slower", ie what are you measuring it against?

word. what kind of cooling u got? are u monitoring temps?

Sometimes you must monitor your memory timing speeds, often they change automatically depending on how much you overclock your FSB.

For example:
2.5-4-4-7 might become 3-4-4-9 after overclocking.

Ultimately making your computer slower. You can either attempt to manually set your memory timings (only if you have good quality memory would I do this), or find a nice balance between FSB overclock and memory timings increase.

im not monitoring the temperatures,

my specs are,

amd athlon 3800+
1GB DDR RAM
256mb x550
sony dual layer dvd ram drive
winfast mobo

my cooling is just one heatsing and fan on the processor and four fans inside the case

ok, how do you monitor the temps, should you use a fan controller or something like that??

no, theres software to do it,, pcwizard, speedfan, i think everest,,, they do it from within windows,, your bios also shows a few temps also

everest is the best for temp monitoring. google everest utility (sp?)
