ok, so here's the situation:

after my friend messed around in my computer to check for some compatibility (he had an extra video card and some ram to give. it wasn't compatible), we ran into some problems. first the monitor wasnt showing anything, and then after some tinkering it started making some strange beepbeepbeepbeep noise. he did a total checkup and reconnected everything, and she came back around.....almost.

windows freezes when I get to a page full of boot options. (safe mode, run windows normally, etc). no matter what option I choose, the timer stops and windows locks up.

so. I took my HDD out and slapped it into his PC to backup my data so I could format the thing and reinstall windows....but when I goto access documents and settings/administrator/ it says access is denied. my windows was previously password protected, so I'm assuming that is what is preventing me from accessing my files.

is there a way to input my password to get to my files? a way around? I need my data.

(my windows version is XP pro, btw)
