dvi-d help

well I purchased this monitor and this graphics card recently and im now putting my pc together, but im wondering, what is dvi? my gpu hase a dvi hookup and my monitor has a dvi hookup(came with dvi-d cable) so... can I hook it up and have beter picure or somthing, and if I do, do I plug the dvi-d cable and the vga cable at the same time or do I take one out to put the other in??

DVI is a little better picture just use the DVI not DVI with the VGA

Yes, run one DVI cable from the DVI-out in in the back of your vid card, and plug the other side into your DVI-in for your monitor.
