I live in country NSW and the nearest MSY is 400km away. I am buying off scorptec because they had the best prices online that delivered. Also they have a good reputation and their website is easy to use.

My budget is around $2000AU. I wont be using my computer for gaming and I wont be overclocking. I will be mostly be using it for downloading music/movies, watching dvd's, watching TV, recording TV, running two websites and basic photo editing.

It would be good if you could give me some advice. I am planning to buy my parts within a week. Thanks.

That's a fine selection of pieces, nothing I would do radically different, and it's all compatible.

How much does it add up to (I'm too lazy to do the math myself)? AU$2000 is a lot for a non-gaming, non-overclocking build. And by the way, with a better video card, that'd be an excellent gaming and overclocking rig :).

It adds up to around AU$1950. It cost more because I brought a better power pack abd case and also have a tv tuner and vista. My original build which was similar except it was P4 and XP cost $1600. I thought that if I spend a little more on the newest parts it would last a lot longer.

Well the price seems a bit high, but you don't live in the US. I think I know, above all people, what it is to see prices 20-30% higher than in the US. One just accepts the fact; there's nothing else to do.

Also, going Core 2 Duo is much better than going P4. It will definitely last longer.
