Cannot see IIS

So I have upgraded my XP Pro SP2 to include IIS, and when I goto:

My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications >

There is no listing for the IIS server.

the IIS admin service is running. And i have also uninstalled it and installed it again

any thoughts?

Do you get a test site when you go to http://127.0.0.1 ?

And in classic view the options for it is located under admin tools in control panel.

When i go to local host I get a

Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.


And when i go to control panel, under administrative tools, there is an IIS option.

but when i try to open it, it cant find iis.msc

If you have tried twice and came to the same result, this is what I would do;

Uninstall IIS (full of bugs and hacks - apparently I only found one with passwords) and install Apache: http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi

Maybe someone else knows a fix for your direct problem.
