I went out today and bought the following:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz
Asus P5B-Deluxe Wi-Fi
OCZ 2GB P800R22GK PLATINUM (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800MHz
Seagate 320GB SATA2 HDD
Lite-On DVD-RW w/ LightScribe
Cooler Master Centurion 5

This computer will not be used for gaming much, and im planning to buy an average video card for now. I also need a 500+W power supply. Suggestions?

I'm thinking X1650 PRO for now?
I want a 500W psu just because I will probably sell the video card later and upgrade

The 7600gt is a very decent card for "light" gaming...in fact you can play almost any game with that card, just not at high settings...

Im no Vista expert but I doubt that video cards need to be "Vista" compatible...so yes, that EVGA 7600gt is an excellent choice...

As far as the PSU goes....dont cheap out....you may want to add or upgrade later....there is no need to go any less than 500W, even though that rating is somewhat deceptive...

The idea here is too have more that enough power so you dont have to worry about difficult troubleshooting problems with a lower wattage unit....

here's a couple good ones:

this is the same price as the OCZ 520w so if you want something very solid:

Hope that helps..Enjoy your build...and let us know how she performs!

Antec is a very reputable brand of PSU's...but after reviewing my choices, the Smartpower has had some issues and is a little weak for your video card....

sorry, but i guess price is an issue for you.... heres some other Canadian choices:

This is on sale and a great deal:
