Hello I have this pretty horrible computer with a Geforce FX5200. I want to upgrade it. I only play WoW and CS 1.6/source. Ive looked around for a good AGP but they have like 500 Core clock memory while the PCI Express cards are cheaper with about 1500 Core clock speed...I wish i could upgrade to a PCI Express card but my motherboard doesnt have one and I dont have the money to spend for a whole new computer.

AMD 3000+
1 GB Ram
FX5200

I have 500 Dollars and I want to get this 22" LCD Widescreen monitor and a Better AGP videocard to support that moniotr while playing WoW with high FPS.

Please Help

I dont know if its good or not buti think its the only with with this high of Core clock and memory clock. I dont know if thats just for overclocking or not but like i said i just want to beable to play WoW at max with good FPS on a 22".

Oh i found this monitor too looks good and cheap.

with both of them my total comes to $517 after shipping

is it worth it? I mean ive never even thought of going the ATI root. You think I will accomplish everything im looking for?

Also why did you choose your monitor? The one i picked just seems to have more reviews and more 5 gold eggs

I got the search string when I clicked on your link for the monitor, so If that's a better one you choose, then go for it... as for the card... it wil give you very good performance for the money... but the limit is going to be your PSU, not the card... the 7800GS recommends a 450W minimum...

Try that link.

Anyone know of a REALLY cheap PSU? So I could get the video card and the PSU for now and then get the monitor a couple of weeks later. See my Credit Card is only 500 dollar limit = \.

Is the Video card I suggested better then the one you suggested?

If you think my PSU wont be enough then maybe you could suggest a PSU that will be able to handle both the monitor and the Video Card that is very cheap.

That PSU is a combo with the Video Card I suggested. It seems as if the 1650 is accually better then the 7800GS although a slower memory clock speed its a 512 while the 7900GS is 256 and its 40 dollars cheaper unless you figure in the 50 mail in rebate with the 7800GS.

Video memory doesn't do anything. X1650pro with 256MB will perform equally to X1650pro with 512MB

Just get either the 7800GS or 7600GS, they will both perform better even if they have less memory

Just look here at some benchmarks

Ok I just thought of something. But since AGP cards are WAY more then PCI x16 cards. You guys think it would be better/Smarter to just upgrade my motherboard to one that has a PCI x16 slot?

See the problem is that my video card sucks(FX5200) and i cant play WoW at max with FPS over 10-15...

So instead of getting a monitor would it be better to do that?

Heres what I have:

AMD 3200+
1 GB DDR 400
80 GB HD
FX5200

Heres what I came up with:

AMD 4000+ - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819103528 $85

Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131569 $72.99 (cheap MoBo with PCI x16)

GeForce 7950GT - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130061 $260

I can use the memory in my old system and HD and optical drive too. Only problem I have now is I dont know if the 400W with the case will power the Videocard or rather this setup is any good...

Maybe I need a PSU. But that stuff there comes out to $427.22. Do you think the video card is more power then I accually need? Since I am not getting a monitor I only have my 17" CRT at a res of 1024x768.

But like I said I think ill need a PSU and maybe this videocard is more power then what I want to do with so sshould I downgrade to a 7600GT at 139.99 with a 50$ mail in rebate and get a 1 GB DDR 400 ram to have 2 gigs? idk im confused..
