Just ordered a OEM part. Am I screwed?

Im building my first computer and ordered a Samsung 320 GB 3.0/s hard drive. I heard since it was OEM that I wont recieve any connection cables with it? Where do I find the necessary cables?

Harddrives are OEM by default. Your motherboard should come with the necessary SATA cables.

I'm shure anyplace would sell the cables.
Even though the mother boards come with the cables, I still buy the cables I want to use for the case.
Like the IDE cables and stuff I don't like the ribbon.

But yeah anyplace like Newegg would sell what you need, An most of the time a choice between colored cable, Glowing cable just bout anything you can think of.
Only often time's the 5$ shipping tend's to be more then the cable itself. LOL

The oem version is just the HDD warped in bubble wrap with nothing else. It should be fine, and the necessary sata cable should come with your mobo.

Que? IDE cables are ribbon cables, unless they are ROUNDED IDE cables.... SATA cables are CONSIDERABLY smaller than IDE cables.... ribbon or rounded.



Samsung 320 GB 3.0/s is likely a SATA drive. I hope you made sure that you PC supports SATA devices. If it DOES, and you need all the cables, you will need 2 cables. One to connect the HDD to the motherboard, and the other to convert a standard 4 pin moxel power connecter to SATA power connecter (unless the PSU has SATA power connecters).

You're fine then, your motherboard came with sata cables and your PSU has sata support.
