Hi all

This will be my 2nd build for a PC.
I will be using the PC for gaming, storing mp3s, burning cds, and multitasking greatly. So I'll be needing a high performance PC.

I've been reading articles for some gaming rigs, but I can't seem to decide what to choose....

I find it a little difficult to choose between Intel, AMD and Nvidia, ATI....

What do you guys recommend for a decent gaming PC that's up to date?

Dual core, single core, Nvidia, or ATI

whatever you suggest will be greatly appreciated

Thx in advance! :)

For $800, you can get a nice non-gaming machine, that might be able to play general games on medium settings, but not high settings.

how about some suggestions instead of giving me these comments for not being able to build a gaming rig I've seen some people build a gaming PC for $750 only so it can be done...... If you won't offer to help and make a suggestion... plz don't even bother to post

$800-$1000 isn't enough money. You will find that your price will go up fairly quickly.

That's a very good build, Nukem, and there's still some room left.

saikojay, do you need a monitor? if not, we could use the remaining budget to improve the graphics card.

nah I already have an extra monitor that's not being used now lol....

So we could use the remaining for a better vid card.
Thanks for the recommendation Nukem.
I'm not too familiar with Intel.. it would be my first time to build an intel pc lol
Been building AMD based computers in the past

I'm kind of in a hurry, but a video card upgrade you should consider is an X1950Pro, or even an X1950XT (there's a Sapphire one at Newegg for $250).
