I just checked my CPU temp in the Bios. It averaging about 68 degrees celsius. Is this accurate? if it is this temp is way to high. I feel i have adequate cooling, 3 120mm fans plus the cpu fan, a total of 7 anyway.

Anyone have any suggestions on what i cant do, or possibally a better CPU cooler?

Try measuring with other programs...
Check the temperature of your motherboard and other components...
See if the cpu fan is mounted correctly (which one do you have?)

its the Pentium D 840 3.2ghz, the mother board is running at 30C and the power supply is at 40C

Still 68C for a P4 is high i would be worried if it went 70+ we have plenty of P4`s here running none stop for 3 years at 40-60C.

Just make sure to turn the CPU temp warning on in the BIOS for 70C or over. Where do you live? if its a hot area then obviously those conditions will mean your pc will heat up a lot more.

have you cleaned you heatsink? after about 5-12 months, depending of how dusty your room is (and if you smoke) the heat sink will get dusty and cause your temps to jump up. u could see a 5-10 deg drop
