I have an over heating processor which has gone up to 100C degrees. At the moment I have the side off the tower with a big fan up against it and my CPU temperature now is only 53C. I was just wandering if this is dangerous to have the side off with a fan up against it.

its not dangerous but what kind of heatsink and fan you got on your cpu that the temps are that out of control? invest 40 bucks and get a new one is your best bet

Make sure the heatsink is properly seated to the CPU as well. Some thermal grease like Artic Silver applied to the heatsink could help as well.

100 degrees !!!!!! ouch that's hot. I'm surpised you didn't fry that thing. That's 212 in fahrenheit Hot enough to boil water literally. I would defitly take a look at what's going on. Even 55 is on the hot side. Mine is running at 24 and I am running a zalman heat sink / fan
