waste of money IMO

1 GTX will work for at least a year or more before needing to upgrade/add another

the Raptor is ok, but a 16MB Cache 250GB would work just as well with minimal performance loss.

the X6800 is nice, but the E6600 alone would be more than enough to run any game out right now and in the future with no efforts.

with that said... the power supply would not need to be so big if you went with one GPU

I also don't know from experience, but the 680i mobo has a few bugs that have to be worked out. I would suggest the DS3 or P5B if your taking suggestions and drop down to only one card.

but hey... I guess if you have the money to blow... go for it.

Haven't you people got other things to spend money on... o_O

It's an average build for that price... because the higher you go the lesser the bang for buck. Save yourself some money and get a cheaper more efficient system, and invest your dollars in I don't know, a new pc in two years, a car, the World Food Program. :p

Waste of money in my opinion as well. No need for all that "extreme" this or that...as well as 2 vid cards like that. Save some bucks and build a dang 1k system, and put the rest into a Roth IRA acct. so when you're 65 you'll be a millionaire like me ;)

good flowing case
e6600
gigabyte ds3/asus p5b-e board
ocz 600w psu
eVGA 8800GTS
corsairs xms 2GB
zalman 9500
wd 250gb [16mb]

-or ****, dual 250gb for about same price as the 150gb raptor and raid them if you want, close to same performance and an extra 350gb of space for those big graphic intensive games. Games nowadays are taking up more and more space so remember that. 150gb isnt a lot of you have a ton of games. I remember when UT2003 came out and I put it on my old system...I was like 3GB WTF, I had a 40GB HD at the time LOL. UT2004 was 4gb! So be mindful.

Done. Far cheaper and works strong enough to destroy most games out today and most upcoming ones. You'd be fine.

Overkill personified in computer form (Computer(i)fied :D). By the way...you used "critique" as well :D. BoysNightOut didn't you just recommend the e6300 to me?

Okay this is very helpful, thankyou for all your comments... I really didnt plan on spending that much and thats why Im glad you recommended me with options (thats what i was looking for). Keep the replies coming, thanks again.

if your going to drop that much cash, or going for that good of a system, drop the 150 raptor for 2 74s in raid 1 or 2 150s if you have that much. i have 2 raptor 74 in raid 1 and the performance is not just high its rather impressive.

but man i wish i had even the option to drop 1,300 on video cards lol.

that thing will be a beast
but holler(pm) at me if you are interested in a quad core cpu instead of that x6800

e6600
asus p5b e
2gb of Gskill DDR2 800
Antec True power trio 550 watt
8800GTX or GTS if you want to save even more money
WD 250GB HDD
DVD bruner
and a case you like

that will work perfect for you
