well I was thinking of ugrading a few parts in my computer but in-laws wanted to buy a computer for the first time and offered to buy us what we wanted ( not getting insane of course ) if we built them one too and ordered it .. so a 1400$ computer for free!!! I rest my case hehe

I don't think it's worth it to try and tear the thing apart to add thermal paste. It'll lower your temps but it's not really worth it if you're temps are fine as they are now. Voiding your warranty is the main reason I say this.

well ste they didn't want to pay cash.. and they got approved for a dell card... so it was Dell or use my own money.

In that case.

Though I have a hard time believing dell sold an AMD X2 5000 with 4 GB's of RAM for 1.4k.

Also, let me point out that 4GB of RAM is overkill right now (and a waste of money, if you're paying), unless you do heavy graphic design or 3D rendering.

Nice CPU, tho. Have you tried running Super Pi with 1M digits? I'm curious to see what time you'll get. Get it: Download Link

Your never suposed to take the heatsink off on a cold PC. Maybe you didn't, you didn't really say. But, you should get the CPU hot before turning the computer off. This heats and loosens the thermal goo so its almost always easier to take. You have to twist slightly as you pull too.
It had been off for about fifteen minutes. Doubt it's the 'thermal goo' that made it impossible to remove though. It felt like it just couldn't go anywhere, as if the heatsink was soldered onto the motherboard. o_O

heatsinks are held on my a clip typically... if you see a lever along the side of it, try disengaging it... hs's usually come off pretty easily

Not entirely true... In the AS5 directions for my AMD 64 CPU, it stated to rotate the heatsink ontop of the CPU to spread out the paste. worked like a charm.
