So after killing my old computer I have decided to build a new one for general gaming. I am on a budget. I was trying to keep it below 600 USD but now I am just hoping to keep it under 750 USD.
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Processor -- $99.00

Asus AM2 Socket Motherboard -- $84.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131014
I was hoping to find a good motherboard for under $100. I am not looking to over clock my machine but I do not know what makes a good mobo. All I know is that I would like 4x DDR2 RAM slots, a PCIe slot, an AM2 socket, SATA and IDE HDD interfaces, and 2 or 3 PCI slots.
Crucial 2x 512mb 240-pin DDR2 RAM -- $159.99

BFG Tech 7600GT 256mb Video Card -- $139.99 w/ $50.00 mail in rebate

Seagate 160gb SATA HDD -- $62.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148163
I was going to use this as a primary HDD and take my HDD from my old machine and put it in as secondary. I wanted to keep my old files from this old HDD that has IDE interface.
Lite-On 20x DVD Burner -- $34.99

Raidmax ATX Case -- $79.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156063
I like this cases design and it looks like it should have good ventilation and it comes with fans.
Thermaltake 430w Power Supply -- $39.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817153023
I already own this, it was a previous buy and it will be excluded from my over all cost. Is this enough to power the system though?
Thermaltake CPU Fan -- $19.99

OS
Could some one please recommend me an up to date Windows OS. All I really need is word so I think XP Home should be enough.
So far my price is around 680 USD
I tried to follow other builds and guides as much as possible but please give me your input and help. Also please tell me if I am missing anything.
