All,

Planning on building a new gaming PC. Below is what I would like to go to, but I am unsure about compatibility. I would appreciate some feedback as to what all of you think.

Motherboard: ASUS Striker Extreme
Processor: Intel Core 2 Ex X6800 (will overclock)
Heatsink: ThermalTake Big Typhoon VX P310
Slot fan: ThermalTake SL1 (locate beneath GPUs)
GPU: 2x ASUS EN8800 GTX
PSU: ThermalTake 850W or Silverstone 850W
RAM: Crucial 2Gb (1gb x2)
Sound: None-use MB
DVD: ASUS DVD (already own with my current PC)
HD 1: WD 74Gb Raptor (XP Pro, already own; will reimage)
HD 2: WD 74Gb Raptor (Vista)
HD 3: 200Gb 7200 (Storage, already own)
HD Cooler: Cooldrive 6 (already own for 74Gb Raptor)
HD Cooler: Cooldrive 6
Case: ThermalTake Armor w/ 25cm fan
Monitor: 19 in LCD (already own)
Keyboard: Logitech (already own)
Mouse: Logitech (already own)

Thanks.

Well there's only one thing I can think of and that's to check whether all those cooling options fit in your case / motherboard. It's a rather large heatsink you got there. Speaking of which... what case are you going with?

I'd also check on Asus forums if that memory has been tested and works well... Asus boards are picky with memory.

that build is a total overkill, save your money and get an asus p5b and an e6600
that PSU is also an overkill, get an Antec True Power Trio 550watt it will be more then enough to power that build
and do you really need two 8800gtxs? chances are not save your money and go with one or wait for ati to release its r600 and see which is better

with all the money you save you can get a nice sound card and speakers (if you dont already have a bad *** set)
