I want to make a pretty good gaming computer, not sure what parts to use though, there's too many choices, so I'd like to see what kind of parts you can help set up for me.

I want an E6600 or E6400 C2D, 2GB RAM, a 512MB or higher Video Card, unsure on the RAM, MoBo, PSU, etc.

Max of 1,700$ USD budget, I'm willing to wait for the ATI cards to come out to save some money.

Well then get the 8800GTS and everything else, you will be right in the budget.

or try for xms2 ddr2 800mhz. but that is going to cost more.

You arent buying this from a local place pre built are you?

Nope, I'm buying all pieces from Canadacomputers.com and they have a local place near me.
