Repetative updates

I keep getting an update alert for
MSXL 4.0 SP2security update (925673)
and (KB927978)
I insalled them, a window tells me they have been installed, and one minute later, the same again, all day?

Any suggestions?

I've done that. I looked at microsofts web site, they say this a necassary update, any reason why it won't update?

I did that and I, keep getting the alert. Microsoft tell me I need to update this.

Also I went onto a link from the forum, did a scan with Norton, they found Adware.Zangosearch, which my system failed to find.
I then checked ouy a few smaller companies and spyzooka had good reviews, did their online scan, this also failed to find it.
This is my first Pc and I know the difference between hardware and software, but not much more.

I saw your post, regarding spyware and removal, and am sure it works, but I'm not sure I am able to follow the process exactly.

I don't mind paying for something, I just need something idiot proof that works. Any suggestions.
