USB Header Confusion

Its a 5 pin internal USB extension cable. The 9 pin cable is basically two USB cables, one with 4 and one with five wires. You just need to use the first four pins. Two of these cables might help you hook up a 9 pin reader header to your 4 pin USB card headers. Remember, pin 1 is the red.

I trried that and it didn't work.
I also tried hooking it into another PC with the proper connector and it worked fine.

That is the type of connection I need on the PCI card to connect it properly - it seems.
I was searching for an example thats what came up.
