I am currently on a low budget and this is what i came up with for a new machine. Here are the current spec's.

PSU:

Ram:

Motherboard:

CPU:

Fan/heatsink:

I am not sure about which ram would be better thats why i listed both. I am unsure about the ram voltage difference because the standard is 1.8. Also my budget is around 750 U.S Dollars. Also not sure if the fan/heatsink I chose is the best choose. Feel free to tweek this build.

Nice. which mobo you going with? I'd get the non SLI one because It supports ddr2 800 memory and you aren't using SLI.

I would've gone with an AMD Athlon 3500 and got a 7900GT.

The video card is really important. And the GS won't be able to do that much.

You should get an ATI X1900GT instead of the 7900GS. The X1900GT beats the 7900GS easily and costs $155 with no rebates. If you want to spend about $180, get the X1950PRO!!! ATI X1900GT is as fast as a 7900GT. Plus the ATI can overclock!

I recommend the Gigabyte board, b/c I know it is well suited for overclocking your Core 2 Duo. I don't know about ASUS.
