You picked some good parts there. With the ram I suggest getting 1 stick of 1gb, so you can upgrade later to 2gb.

Nice. which mobo you going with? I'd get the non SLI one because It supports ddr2 800 memory and you aren't using SLI.

I would've gone with an AMD Athlon 3500 and got a 7900GT.

The video card is really important. And the GS won't be able to do that much.

You should get an ATI X1900GT instead of the 7900GS. The X1900GT beats the 7900GS easily and costs $155 with no rebates. If you want to spend about $180, get the X1950PRO!!! ATI X1900GT is as fast as a 7900GT. Plus the ATI can overclock!

I recommend the Gigabyte board, b/c I know it is well suited for overclocking your Core 2 Duo. I don't know about ASUS.

I strongly agree, get the 1gb stick so later upgrades are easier and cheaper. The video card seems fine, good card for the price.
