Ive got my computer all put together, and everything appears to be hooked up. And when i go and press the power button on the front of the computer case, everything starts up for a split second and then shuts off again. Any idea why? or what I did wrong?

your going to have to provide more information. what are your specs? Any miscellaneous info about it? Triple check everything's connected.

check a couple of different things:

make sure the floppy connection is secure and not off a pin

check with the mobo manual and make sure that your front button pinning is correct. (lights as well)

make sure your CPU fan connection is in the right spot. Some mobo's will not power up unless they are in the specified CPU fan slot (3 pin).

make sure your mobo is not shorting out anywhere... (remove it and put some electrical tape behind the CPU fan screws. (if it applies of course)

if your mobo has a 4 pin molex connection, make sure you have it plugged in.

If it's turning on for a split second and turning back off... It's either shorting out, or your PSU's a DOA.
