Hi all,

i just bought new 256mb of ddr266 registered ecc server ram.

hymd132g725b4m.

I was wondering whether or not it would be compatible with a normal desktop pc. My motherboard is a gigabyte 8vm533m-rz. i am only asking this question as i have not received the ram in the mail yet.

Any help would be greatley appreciated!!!

check your motherboard mannufacturer and see if its compatable with registered ecc ram,, it would say it in your motherboard book too

All it says in the manual is

2 184 pin ddr dimm sockets, supports up to 2gb dram
supports ddr266/ddr200 dimm
supports only 2.5v ddr sdram

Look up hymd132g725b4m on google and go to the first link. It doesnt say anything about being server ram.

And when i install the ram, if its incompatible will the pc boot up? (i dont have any other ram at the moment)
