Ok if you're changing out your harddrives but you still wanna keep some files/games/whatever on your older harddrive how do you swith them from your old Harddrive to your new one?

I've figured out that you could just write whatever you want to a crap load of CDS, however is there another way?

Simple, can't you just set one as master and slave on your IDE cable, you'll have C: and D: under My Computer. Then just copy/paste your old files over to the new drive. New drive has to be formatted and with the same OS of course.

I used wd data lifguard tools to tranfer things over it came with my HD. Did you geta disk with your hd? Theris tools of software programs you can buy to do this.

Im talking hypathetically im working on being a computer technician and if someone wanted me to replace their harddrive but keep the samethings on their old harddrive how i would go about this.

Use some type of software. What your talking about I did. Transferd windows and everything It's a HD copy!
