Hi,

I just bought a new hd and wanted to merge my old 120gb disk (partitionized 60-60) to one disk again, containing my backups.

So i selected "merge" in partitionmagic and it said the d:\ disk would be a folder on the new combined partition. all fine to me but here is the result:

i can't open it and it says it isn't containing any data.
Here is a propertywindow of the merged 120gb disk. kinda weird:

now i opened up partition magic again and there it it my d:\ disk as a "dynamic disk":

i can't edit anything from partition magic on this disk now.

I scanned the disk with a datarecovery app and it showed me this:

Question: Is there any way to get my disk (containing important backups) back, and so how?

well some of that is gibberish, but some of it is german. lol i have never seen it before. but my freind's custom pc would only use the spanish language pack for some reason, so we named it lopez....... anyways, it looks like something went wrong in the merging somewhere along the line, there is a reason they say "please backup your data" before you do that kind of thing. you might be able to use Knoppix or Ubuntu to access the drives and recover some of the files, like Warez Monster suggested, but its a long shot at best.
