Windows NT and CPU 100% usage!!!!

I have a problem. Windows NT hangs up when I am accesing a certain application. The cpu usage jumps to 100% in the task mgr. and hangs there causing a lot of things to slow down. I understand this is an issue others have found with XP as well. My rig is running a P4 2.4b with a 533 fsb. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this or has a fix for it? Is it hardware, software? Anything, HELP!!! banging head on wall! BTW: these are work machines, not my personal rig, Windows NT, pbbt.

You might tell us what the application is, or just try re-installing it.
