2 view video cards

does the 9800pro chipset support double monitor usage?
does the 9600xt chipset also?
or does the manufacturer's moddifications affect this at all?

I think that they both do but both of these cards have one analog and one digital plug. Check at the ati website, I am not 100% positive on this.

All manufacturers manufacture different versions of cards (e.g. VGA+DVI+TV, VGA+TV combinations are just a few). You will have to check with the manufacturer first. As far as I know, the built-by-ATI (BBA) cards will have VGA, DVI and TV-out connections.

To add to Martin's post, Most of the time if you get an ATI card with VGA and a DVI outputs, a DVI to VGA adaptor is included. This is the adapter you will use if your monitors don't support DVI.
