New system... No Spark!!

Well, I just put the thing together last night and nothing. I think I have all cables plugged in etc, but when I turned it on nothing happened. Nothing lit up on the motherboard and not a fan moved. I did seem to smell something like electrical which has me sweating bullets.
I had the main plug in the motherboard and the smaller 4 pin on above the processor. I have the wall outlet on and plugged in. The only thing that isn't really clear to me is the plugs from the case itself. The pw switch reset switch etc. If I get those wrong will the thing not boot up at all? I am so worried I fried something. Can someone please advise?

If you have the power button on the wrong way, then no, the computer will not boot. Try flipping it around.

Also make sure tthe power switch on the PSU is on.

Sounds dumb but the pw switch has an orange and white wire. I have the orange wire to the + side. WIll switch it around though and try. The switch on the back of the PSU is on.

Yeah, try switching it around. The polarity has to be correct for it to work.
