if the duel core processor says it runs at 2.13 GHz does that mean that counting two of them it equals 4.26 GHz or does it just mean they run at 1.65 GHz each?

if its rated at 2.13 then each core is rated at 2.13 (least thats how ive interpeted it)

its just like having 2 seperate 2.13ghz processors, but they just mashed them into one chip, decreasing total power cosumption, but as a result of 2 heat generating devices in such close contact they tend to generate more heat than a single core processor.

First off it's DUAL, not DUEL. Second they do not stack, so it does not equal 4.26 GHz.

They are both at 2.13 GHz.

third, your math sucks. 2x1.65=3.3 not 2.13.

a dual core is unbelieveably straight forward. a dual core processor is two cores each running at the advertised speed. they do not add up. frequency just does not work like that. think of cars. two engines running at 3000RPM are still only two engines at 3000RPM, not 6000RPM. the two cars can however go two different places at the same time.......

I bought a laptop with a Single Core Centrino.

Did I make a big big mistake?

I really don't use the computer for anything hardcore.. mainly work, internet, etc.
