this is what i have planned

Ok, I did my research and I have decided Im going to give it a shot and just build my 1st custom gaming computer. I chose the CPU wich will be a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2 Processor (Model ADA3800CUBOX) if theres any reason I should not get this let me know. I made my choice that I Will have 1-2GB of ram but dont know what brand to choose from, also a 7200rpm 80-100GB HDD and a case with like a 500-600watt Power Supply. Now the hard part for me is choosing wich motherboard and wich card to go with. Theres so many brands and types to choose from. I really want a good gaming card(of course PCI-E) that will play on high to max settings for games like WoW,HALF LIFE:2,CS:SOURCE,CS:1.6 ,F.E.A.R.,Battle Field and also one that would last for like upcoming graphical games in the future. This computer is mainly for gaming but will aslo be for web searching and downloading. Maybe some video editing too.

if anyone could give links at neweggo or zipzoomfly then that be sooo perfect!!

1) get a intel core duo. not amd. intel > amd atm. go for e6300 or e6600 if you can afford it

2) get 2gb of ram if you can. corsair or gskill.

3) you wont need 600w PSU. 500 is plenty. you need to buy a psu sperate forom the case, as case psu are cr*p.

4) for core 2 duo go for either asus pb5: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=443853

asus p5w:

or gigabyte:

all are good. gigabyte is cheaper, asus p5w is best for overclocking

p.s. sry link are to english site, but i have them bookmarked...:)

I agree, going Core 2 Duo is probably a better option: E6300 or E6600, depending on your budget.

Also, the motherboards eatmy91 suggested are good options.

However, before I go further, could you please state your budget? After that, I can set you up with a decent rig with Newegg parts.
