hi, i think the mobo on my brother's pc is fubar. Im looking to replace it but I'm not too sure what I need, nor where to get it (ebuyer is pretty empty of old mobos)

Here is the spec:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Geforce FX5200
512MB SD-RAM
some Maxtor IDE HDD

think thats all

also, the old motherboard is 21x31cm, does my new one need to be the same size?

cheers

im in england btw, do newegg deliver here?

oh and will that fit my case? its 24.4x24.4 cm

You new motherboard doesn't need to be the same size as long as it fits in the case. Remember that windows won't boot right cause you have to reformat the hard drive everytime you replace your motherboard. Correct me if i am wrong.

im worried about the voltage of the AGP slot on many of the motherboards i look at. Ive heard that the fx5200 uses 3.3V and wont be compatible with many mobos , because they have 1.5V slots

I believe the 5200 is an 8X card and I'm guessing those boards have 4X slots? It'll run fine if that's what you're referring to. The 4X and 8X run at different voltages but I don't think it matters, I'm running that exact card in a 4X slot right now actually haha.
