im planning on paying $300 USD for my friends computer he doesnt use anymore. here are the specs

AMD Sempron processor
1 GB ram( not sure which kind)
micro-star motherboard
Nvidia GeForce 6600
a custom case
17" crt monitor
key board and optical mouse
2 steam accounts with like 5 games each and some other games allready on it.

just want to know if thats a resonable price or not?

if i can remember any thing else ill edit.

It'd depend on the speed of the Sempron processor (big difference in something like a socket 754 2600, and a Sempron 64 939 3500+)

RAM is probably cheap generic stuff, since the motherboard is too...

The video card is average. It's not good. But it's not bad. It can run the latest games, but at low settings.

I really don't think it's worth 300USD, but see what specific models/brand the processor/RAM/video card are.

Processor: i dont know which kind it is but i think i saw 1.4 GHZ (i planed on buying a new one anyway)

i also don't know about the RAM either

i know that some stuff is cheap. this will be the first computer that I actuallly own...but i plan on upgrading everything in the next month or 2

just wanted to see if this is a good starter for the price

I guess it's worth it, because you get the whole computer system, with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. But I'd say it's not worth upgrading or putting anymore money into it.
