Digital Movies

I have a camcorder that I can copy movies from to my hard drive. I have done it before and was wondering if I could speed up the copy time from my camcorder to my computer. I copied things from vacation that was an hour length and had to wait an hour just to get the movie copied to the hard drive. Any suggestions on how to speed up the copy process from the camcorder to the PC. Thanks

since you are not getting enough opinions i am going to offer mine. with old cassette tapes you could fast-record them by playing faster than normal speed. i do not think you can do this with a computer UNLESS the data is being sent to the computer as a digital source, as opposed to an analog source.

i do not know anything about camcorders so i do not know what kinds of interface they have with computers. i would check the instruction manual first or download it from their website
