Epson Stylus C84 lowink question

I have a stylus c84 and I have a question about low ink. I dont remember, but I think that when the ink is low enough, electricity goes through something in the cartridge and blows a fuse, making it useless and I'm wondering if there was a program that would stop that from happening so I can keep printing and refill it myself. I thought I saw something for it awhile ago but that was before I bought the printer and I cant find it now. Thanks
