I would also like to thank you guys for giving me all of the knowledge i now possess before i started posting on this site i had absolutly no knowledge of computer hardware nor computers in general, now im a computer wiz.

Thank You,
And I Hope you had a wonderfull New Year

Holy crap.

Coffee Contest?

Explain, then I will laugh at your pitiful build and tell you to get a conroe. :p

well.. i won the 10 grand by just getting the code off the back of a "Maxwell House" coffee can, then just entering it online... but i was lucky enough to win. They giveaway 10grand every month to some lucky person.

Back to the matter at hand.. i like the build you made nukem, but shouldnt i get the 8800gtx.. isnt it better even though its $100 more, Price isnt really a factor, i just want something less than $1,500

So you won the money but your parents took 8 grand away? Will they give it back to you when you are "responsible"enough, or did they just take it?

Thats messed up did they tell you to put in the code? If they didint then thats messed up and id be the one getting 8 and id give them 2 if they were lucky. But either way I would go with the build Nukem suggested. Remember to get a good case with tons of fans since that 8800GTX likes to become hot.

I'd check out getting a bigger power supply (600 - 700 watt). OCZ makes some that are kick-butt on the 12v rails. That 8800 will take alot of the 550's wattage. Don't skimp on power! Might also check out a WD Raptor HD. 10,000 RPM will feed the machine.

no possible way he could fit 8800GTS SLI.

an 8800GTX can run fine on a good 550w PSU but to be safe 600w should be fine.

a raptor could be something that would be good to finish the few bucks he has left

The Power supply Nukem suggested is more than sufficent. ;)
