Installing new DVD/CD-RW combo drive...

Ok, I decided to change this one since I have a new problem.

I tried to install a new DVD/CD-RW combo drive on a pc that had a bad dvd drive. Well, how do I get the pc to recognize the drive/install the software that came with the drive. If it's not even recognized than I can't do anything... is there something I'm not getting here? I would appreciate any help....

What type of drive is it, and The Windows Xp should automatically detect the drive and install it, UNLESS youre not using xp

Unless you have a bad IDE port on your motherboard. Try setting it up on the same cable as the hard drive as slave.

Download the drivers from the net and reboot?
