window xp home/many shutdowns

I have been getting a lot of shut downs lately where a report is sent to MS. Yeah like they are going to fix my problem. Sometime the screen just goes black and reboots. We had some bad electrical storms last week and someone said it may have affeted my OS an I need to reload it. It just locks up a lot too. Any ideas?

Sounds like a hardware problem.

What is Ur configuration.
It may also happen due to a hardware clash.

Even if Ur system gets overheated shutting downs may occur.
